OPIC is seeking an intern to assist with the development of and execution of SRI Finance which is a cross product specialty group in the new, emerging field of socially responsible investing. Socially Responsible Investment Finance is a specialty group offering customized finance, fund and insurance products to the education, information, communications and technology (ICT), health, water and sanitation sectors. It provides direct and indirect support projects, whether through direct origination or linkages created or assisted by OPIC through consultation, education and outreach. By providing debt financing, OPIC assists to jump start or expand endeavors undertaken by philanthropic investors. Additional financial leverage for scarce capital can bring projects to scale with equipment, facilities, and/or working capital to reach the critical mass necessary to produce predictable and sustainable cash flow for the future, thereby empowering people in developing countries to build better futures.
