OPIC’s Dia Martin speaks at conference for African entrepreneurs

Dia Martin, Director of OPIC Social Enterprise Finance, spoke at a panel, Building the Glocal Ecosystem: Bridging the Divide, at the Sankalp Africa Summit February 26th in Nairobi. Sankalp is a gathering of entrepreneurs, innovators, donors and investors, and Martin spoke at the event about OPIC’s commitment to impact investing in Africa, and the Portfolio for Impact program focused on supporting small, high-impact projects.

“The Sankalp Africa Summit was an excellent opportunity to develop new relationships and collaborate with innovative partners across the social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Africa,” said Martin. “East Africa, in particular, is a hub of social entrepreneurship.   Many American investors and entrepreneurs are active in the region.
