Did you know? American businesses support global development

In a new series of photo essays, OPIC explores the far-ranging impact of the projects it supports. One of OPIC’s biggest infrastructure projects was the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, also known as Quiport, in Quito, Ecuador. Built with the support of OPIC financing and opened in 2013, the airport is one of the most modern in South America and has helped drive increased commerce and tourism to the region.

As this infographic details, the benefits of the new airport have extended to many American businesses, including more than 30 businesses that participated in the construction of the airport, and several other airlines, hotel chains and related tourism businesses that have expanded to serve a growing tourism market.
