OPIC in New York: A look at how OPIC investments support multiple businesses
OPIC hosts its second Expanding Horizons workshop of the year on June 16 in New York City, where small businesses will gather to learn more about the benefits of expanding into developing markets overseas. OPIC has been hosting these events around the country for several years, as part of its effort to educate small businesses about the finance and insurance tools that can support them overseas.
American small businesses account for close to 75% of OPIC’s clients. And while small businesses have much to gain from tapping into fast-growing developing markets, OPIC’s support for these projects brings additional benefits to other local businesses.
This image offers a snapshot of some of the ways OPIC-supported projects have resulted in procurement of local goods and services from New York to Brazil, Ghana, Jamaica, and other countries.
And while the image offers a good view of the different markets reached, it is only a partial picture of the estimated $26.9 billion from New York suppliers to OPIC-committed projects since 1994.
