Workers near Malvern, Jamaica help excavate a construction site where wind turbines will be raised in the coming months. Supported by a $42.7 million loan from OPIC, BMR Jamaica Wind Ltd is building a 36.3 MW wind farm about 60 miles west of Kingston. The plant is expected to be the largest renewable energy project developed by the private sector in Jamaica and will help the island nation reduce dependency on expensive imported fossil fuel.
