In honor of World Food Day, we are highlighting agribusiness entrepreneurs such as Madina Namanda who owns and operates a successful wholesale, commercial pineapple plantation in Uganda and, in doing so, has been able to increase her income.

With the help of OPIC, microfinance institution FINCA International has provided more than 1.5 million low-income people with the financing necessary to grow their small businesses. As a result, small business owners like Madina are given the opportunity to enhance their families’ lives and foster the creation of wealth within their communities.
