Investing "over there" can pay dividends here at home: OPIC small business workshops featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer
“There are many ways that the U.S. economy benefits when American businesses expand their horizons overseas,” OPIC Outreach Director Lawrence Spinelli wrote last weekend in the Cincinnati Enquirer. “By growing their revenue, they can often hire more workers. And their investment abroad often leads more broadly to the procurement of U.S. services.
OPIC will bring its Expanding Horizons workshop to Cincinnati later this summer, to help educate businesses and entrepreneurs about the opportunities of investing in emerging markets, and the ways that OPIC and other U.S. Government agencies can support them.
Other reasons small American businesses should consider exploring emerging markets in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America? The world needs American ingenuity and business climates are improving as many developing countries adopt regulatory reforms to make it easier to get construction permits, access electricity, while also protecting investor interests.
