Last week in New York City, OPIC hosted another successful workshop for small businesses and entrepreneurs to discuss the opportunities offered by expanding businesses overseas into emerging markets, and the finance and political risk insurance tools OPIC offers to support those endeavors.

OPIC was joined by panelists from other U.S. Government trade and development agencies as well as Brett N. Silvers, President of WorldBusiness Capital, Inc., a company that supports small and medium businesses compete in the global marketplace, who delivered keynote remarks.

Working with American small businesses is one of OPIC’s top priorities and small businesses comprise almost 75 percent of OPIC’s clients. During his remarks, Silvers emphasized that "doing business in emerging markets in developing countries represents a fantastic opportunity for U.S. small and mid-size businesses.”

Since 2006, OPIC’s successful Expanding Horizons workshops have educated more than 4,500 American businesses across the United States. The next Expanding Horizons workshop for 2017 will take place in Cincinnati, OH, on August 18. Details and registration are available online.
