Dallas Morning News features new OPIC President and the mission to boost U.S. interests around the globe

Ray Washburne, OPIC’s newly confirmed President and CEO, was featured this week in the Dallas Morning News, where he spoke about the ways that investment in development helped promote economic and political stability.
“Stable economies create stable governments,” said Washburne, who spoke with the Dallas Morning News shortly before departing on his first official trip to Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
Washburne, a longtime Dallas investor, described his plans to support American investment in regions from Latin America to the Middle East. He also highlighted some of the many projects OPIC supports with Texas businesses, including political risk insurance to support Apache Corp’s work in Egypt, as well as Noble Energy’s investment in a gas field off the coast of Israel. OPIC also provided financing to a Dallas nonprofit to build a new school in Cambodia.
