Meet the Women of OPIC: Lara Driscoe
March is National Women's History Month, a time to recognize the contributions that women have made to our nation. Everyday throughout the month of March, we will feature one of OPIC's 126 women employees in our Meet the Women of OPIC series. Learn about our diverse workforce and what inspires them to work for the Agency.
Managing Director, Office of External Affairs
Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a Managing Director in the Office of External Affairs where I handle client outreach, private sector partnerships, impact investing and innovative finance. Prior to OPIC, I was a Senior Director of Government Relations for the largest association representing alternative investment funds. Before that, I worked on Capitol Hill as a senior aide for banking and financial services issues. I received my J.D. from Catholic Law School and my B.A. from University of Maryland.
What do you like best about working at OPIC?
I get to meet interesting, new people every day that are working to make the world a better place.
Is there a woman who has inspired you?
Will you share an interesting fact about yourself?
The first time I took a public stance on an issue was when I was 9 years old and was quoted in the Rockville Gazette saying about the new bike helmet law -- "It's stupid." I have now since changed my view.
