Meet the Women of OPIC: Margaret Merrick

March is National Women's History Month, a time to recognize the contributions that women have made to our nation. Everyday throughout the month of March, we will feature one of OPIC's 126 women employees in our Meet the Women of OPIC series. Learn about our diverse workforce and what inspires them to work for the Agency.

Tell us a little about yourself:

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas before heading to Charlottesville, VA for college (go hoos!). I received my BA in Public Policy from the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at UVA. I've interned in DC the past 3 summers and have been working at OPIC since May.

What do you like best about working at OPIC?

The people! It's a treat to get to work with such accomplished and fun people.

Is there a woman who has inspired you?

Katie Kaufman. You can read her biography and see why she is an inspiration.

Will you share an interesting fact about yourself?

I scored on the wrong hoop in a basketball game once.
