Print this Page

Country: Kenya
Sector: Education

Challenge: Public schools suffer from limited resources.

Solution: Bridge International Academies has designed a system to bring quality education to hundreds of thousands of students through a model that is both affordable and scalable. Bridge schools provide a single standardized curriculum that instructors access from a tablet computer. By keeping tuition payments to less than $6 per student per month, the schools are affordable to even low income families. OPIC is supporting the expansion of the school with a $10 million loan.

Impact: Bridge expects to educate an estimated 300,000 children by 2022.In addition, the Bridge project is projected to create more than 12,000 local jobs in Kenya.
