OPIC Selects Lisa-Marie Monsanto of Katten Munchin Rosenman as Partner in Enterprise Development Network

June 4, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has selected Lisa-Marie Monsanto, a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, to serve as a loan originator for a new alliance with the private sector designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expanding into emerging markets overseas.

The alliance, the Enterprise Development Network (EDN), increases access to OPIC products and services through a network of financial institutions, business consultants, associations, law firms and regional investment promotion agencies.  EDN will also help SMEs by offering more efficient, cost-effective delivery of services through its network of service providers.

As part of the alliance, Monsanto, a commercial finance attorney, will represent project sponsors in connection with their application for OPIC loans, guarantees, grants for technical assistance and political risk insurance, as well as with the structuring, negotiation and documentation of their financing package.  For more information, visit
