WASHINGTON, D.C. – David Ickert, an innovator in how American small businesses can thrive as exporters and investors, will be the keynote speaker at a small business workshop hosted by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government’s development finance institution, on June 27 at the Fort Worth Sheraton, in Fort Worth, Texas.
The workshop is designed to help SMEs in Texas and surrounding states learn how to gain access to lucrative emerging markets overseas with OPIC’s support. Since its establishment in 1971, OPIC has committed $7.9 billion in financing and political risk insurance to projects sponsored by companies in Texas, supporting more than 31,108 U.S. jobs and $7.2 billion in U.S. exports.

OPIC achieves its mission by providing investors with financing, guarantees, political risk insurance, and support for private equity investment funds.
Established as an agency of the U.S. Government in 1971, OPIC operates on a self-sustaining basis at no net cost to American taxpayers. OPIC services are available for new and expanding business enterprises in more than 150 countries worldwide.
